United Fund Receives $34,333.10 From Cummins Engine Plant - Passes 90% Mark!
The Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant recently distributed $217,757.18 in matching funds to area United Way and United Fund agencies. The United Fund of Warren County received $34,333.10 from the distribution.
Every year, the employees at the Jamestown Engine Plant are encouraged by Cummins Inc. to pledge money to their favorite charities. The company then matches the total of those pledges and distributes those funds to the United Ways and United Funds represented by their employees. The funds are proportionately given based on the percentages of employees from each county. In addition to Warren County, Chautauqua County, Cattaragus County and Erie County (Pa.) received funds.
“These funds are tremendously important to our campaign,” said Jim Goodling, Director of the United Fund of Warren County. “Cummins is committed to benefiting the communities where their employees live, even crossing the state line to do so.”
The United Way campaign has reached the 90% mark in its campaign to collect $660,000. Contributions are still needed to reach the final goal and can be made online at www.unitedfundofwarrencounty.org or by mailing a check to P. O. Box 844, Warren, Pa. 16365.
