The United Fund of Warren County has received a $1,000 grant from the Land O’ Lakes Foundation to help fight hunger.  The Fund, in turn, contributed the money to the Salvation Army, a member agency, to help fund their kitchen.  The Army provides meals five days a week at its facility.  The grant will purchase ingredients for 500 meals.

The Land O’ Lakes Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life in communities by supporting valuable projects and charitable endeavors.  Jim Goodling, Director of the United Fund, praised the gift, noting that the “demand for food assistance is growing in Warren County and the Salvation Army struggles to meet that demand.  This gift is of great importance.”

Majors Ralph and Diane Campbell of the Warren Salvation Army agreed. “Over the summer, demand for help increases with kids being out of school.  This check will help us so much in restocking our shelves.”
